The record is in "production stage now," according to Lorde.
Breakout alternative pop darling Lorde is nearly done with the follow-up to Pure Heroine.
The New Zealand-based artist gave the update via Instagram in response to one particularly desperate fan, who asked her in a comment whether another album is coming or if "we should just give up on you as an artist."
"Give up on me if you want to! I write a record when I have enough special stories to tell, and it's all me, every melody every lyric, not some team who just start the machine up every eighteen months like clockwork," responded the "Royals" and "Tennis Court" singer.
"The record is written, we're in the production stage now. I've worked like a dog for a year making this thing great for you guys."
There isn't yet a release date or a name for her sophomore record. We'll keep you updated.
