For the past few years, our big and small screens have been filled with stories about American slavery during the 18th and 19th centuries. And Snoop Dogg is tired of it.
He shares his thoughts in a new Instagram video where he blasts The History Channel for the new version of the 1977 miniseries Roots, which premiered on Monday night (May 30).
“No disrespect, but I can’t watch no motherfuckin more black movies where n—– getting dogged out — 12 Years a Slave, Roots, Underground, I can’t watch none of that shit,” he says in the clip below. “I’m sick of this shit.”
He also added, “Let’s create our own shit based on today, how we live and how we inspire people today,” he insisted. “Black is what’s real. Fuck that old shit.”
