She passed away on Monday night (May 2).
Afeni Shakur Davis, who was the mother of the late rapper Tupac Shakur, died on Monday evening (May 2). She was 69.

Afeni was found in her Northern California home after police responded to a call about a possible cardiac arrest situation around 9:30pm. She was then taken to the hospital where she died at 10:28pm.
Afeni was a former member of the Black Panther Party and was arrested in April 1969 and charged with conspiracy to bomb police stations and other buildings in New York City. She was pregnant with Tupac during her trial. In the 1980s, her addiction to drugs strained her relationship with her son. But in the 1990s, the two reunited after she got clean.
