History is about to repeat itself. That is, with one notable exception.

Fox has released a new full-length trailer for Independence Day: Resurgence. Now 20 years after the 1996 original, aliens have returned to Earth stronger than ever. Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Vivica A. Fox and Brent Spiner all return for this sequel. The only person missing is Will Smith, who played hero Steven Hiller. This trailer hints at a tragic demise for the hero sometime in the last two decades. Meanwhile Jessie Usher plays his stepson Dylan Dubrow-Hiller, who is eager to fight. "We gotta remind them that Earth is not for the taking," he says, as an Earth Space Defense army cheers him on.
