With members from the UK, US and Ghana, the trio is bringing continents together one song at a time.
With an inspirational message and styles ranging from EDM to to hip-hop, Twelve24 isn't like most bands you see today.
As evidenced on its latest release, October's From the Ground Up, the UK-based three-piece has a unique sound combining each of the members' favorite genres from their home countries. While Josh Green is local to the United Kingdom, Twelve24's other members—Ryan and Christina—are from America and Ghana, respectively.
The three blend sounds and bend genre lines on nearly every track, and currently tour all over the UK on a regular basis. From Macklemore and Drake to Marvin Gaye and the 1975, many different styles of music can be heard on each of the group's releases.
Green took the time to chat with Myspace about the group's spiritual message and international lifestyle.

What's it like to have an up-and-coming group from all over the world in 2016?
It's hard! Honestly, the music game is crazy right now with all the streaming services and everybody trying to have a piece of the pie. But also, at the same time, it's great because there are so many people making music, and it is so accessible that you can draw inspiration from so many places that may have otherwise remained unknown. Obviously, with that comes opportunity for you to become well-known overnight from a viral video or something like that, so I guess it's hard but also exciting with lots of opportunity.
Where did the name Twelve24 come from?
The band name is actually from John 12:24 in the Bible and it talks about there being hope even in the darkest times. This inspires us as a band and is a message we try and convey to people who listen to our music. There is always hope.
With everyone coming from different continents, how did you all meet and start a band?
As a band, we formed in a training school called Message Academy run by an international charity called the Message Trust based in Manchester, UK, our hometown. We met in this school in 2007 to learn more about our Christian faith, and also to hone and develop our musical talents. After the course, the charity put us together as a group to travel around high schools in the UK to inspire young people that they are loved, accepted and valued and to tell them about Jesus. After a few years of doing that, our music started to reach far and wide, and we started traveling the world doing schools and large festivals in places like America, South Africa, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Slovakia, Germany and France, and more! We felt like God had bigger plans, so we stepped out independently from the charity (although we still partner with them for schools) in order to pursue the music scene more and grow as a band in the mainstream industry. This was confirmed after we decided to take the step when our music video for our song "Higher" got played on MTV and rose to #34 in the UK iTunes dance chart.
What's the coolest part of being in Twelve24 for you?
Definitely travelling the world. It's awesome to meet so many different people and experience a wide variety of foods and cultures. Capetown in South Africa was a huge highlight for us and was an awesome time. We even shot a music video out there for our song "Nobody But You."
You obviously have your background in religion, but where else do you draw inspiration from for your music?
Our inspiration comes from so many different places. Obviously, our faith in Jesus plays a huge part, as we read the Bible and get inspired from that. Also, the work we do at schools and watching our music change people's lives as young people turn away from suicide and self–harm because our music and our message inspired them. Different cultures and people that we meet, and all the music we listen to all the time. It all works together.
Does Twelve24 have any big goals for this year?
We still want to travel to many more countries for the first time and visit others again. We just accomplished two big goals that we had, which was to headline a huge show for our album launch and also to do our first headlining UK tour. Goals for the future are to do a European tour soon, and eventually a world tour as well as a specific chunk of time in America. We also want to collaborate with some big artists and release new music soon.
What's the songwriting process like for Twelve24?
Sometimes we literally write a whole song in an hour! Other times ,it takes a year. We normally start with one of three things: a beat, an a capella vocal, or an idea. It normally starts there and develops and progresses as we work on it. Some things don’t make it and others completely change and others stay relatively similar to where it started. We just believe in the realness and the organic nature of music and try to just let things come as naturally as they are supposed to. For every one song we make, we have scrapped five or six others. On our last album, we wrote about 60-70 ideas and songs, and only put out 15. There were about 20 strong songs in the end, but we had to stop somewhere and perfect the ones that really worked.
