DiCaprio reminds the actress-turned-Fox News contributor of Chicken Little.
While Leonardo DiCaprio received a standing ovation for his first Oscars win, at least one person didn't agree with his speech. Actress-turned-Fox News contributor Stacey Dash slammed Leonardo for describing climate change as "the most urgent threat facing our entire species." She compared him to Chicken Little, as in the children's storybook character who warns his neighborhood that the sky is falling.
"Before making a speech the world would hear, he should have double checked his facts," Stacey writes for her column in conservative news site Patheos.
Stacey argues that climate change isn't nearly as alarming as Leonardo made it out to be, and that the actor should lend his voice to better causes. "There are people 10 miles from Leo starving, stuck on entitlement. Twenty first century NAZIS to deal with and North Koreans playing with nukes. He needs to get his priorities straight," she writes.
Will Leonardo heed to Stacey's plea? Given the crowd's non-reaction to her Oscars appearance, where host Chris Rock announced her as the award show's new minority outreach program director, it isn't likely. Revisit that awkward moment below.
