"This woman had an intense presence and I felt very honored to meet her!!!"
Hillary Clinton is earning celebrity endorsements left and right. After scoring co-signs from Katy Perry, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera and Lena Dunham, Britney Spears found time in between rehearsals and performances for her Las Vegas residency Piece of Me to meet with the Democratic presidential candidate.
"Such an inspiration and beautiful voice for women around the world!!!" Britney says. "This woman had an intense presence and I felt very honored to meet her!!!"
Why does Britney meeting Hillary matter? It shows how Hillary increasingly understands how such endorsements influence an election. Barack Obama beat Hillary in the 2008 Democratic primary by around a million votes. Meanwhile, per Fortune, a 2013 study published by the Journal of Law, Economics and Organization showed that Oprah Winfrey's endorsement of Barack earned him—you guessed it—a million votes.
