And she did it in the most eloquent way she could.
Kanye West thought he smoothed things over with the controversial "Fame" lyric about Taylor Swift over Twitter last week. However, it doesn't seem so. After winning Album of the Year at the 58th Grammy Awards last night (February 15), Taylor addressed the lyric with an empowering speech that can't end any other way than by dropping the mic.
"I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments, or your fame,” she said. “But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going, you’ll look around and know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. That will be the greatest feeling in the world.”
And while she never said his name, we all knew who she was referring to. See her entire acceptance speech below.
