'Gilmore Girls' is coming back, and we'll tell you why it's so important.

After months of speculation, Gilmore Girls is officially coming back. Loralei, aka Lauren Graham, confirmed the news on January 29 via Twitter.

But before we all jump for joy at the return of the series, there's a catch: The show, which has yet to be titled, will not be a full season but a four-episode mini series on Netflix. Lauren (Lorelai), Alexis Bledel (Rory), Scott Patterson (Luke) and Kelly Bishop (Emily) have all signed on to reprise their roles, and Mashable reported Sean Gunn (Kirk) and Keiko Agena (Lane) will also be in the cast.

Regardless of how long the show will last or who'll be in it, we still can't wait! And now that filming has begun, we put together the Top 8 reasons why it's some of the best news we're going to hear in 2016.

Lorelai and Rory Fed into Our Obsessive (Local) Coffee Habits

Who doesn't love a good cup of joe? We know Lorelai and Rory do. Hardly did we ever see an episode where they didn't get their caffeine fix. Not only did coffee become Lorelai and Rory's life elixir, but it also kind of took the place of a hug. For them java was the link that bound them to each other. So if you thought you were a coffee-holic, see the clip above and see these two got you beat.

And Who Didn't Want to Grab a Cup at Luke's Diner?

Sure, there are tons of big name craft coffee roasters out there, but would you ever say no to coffee from Luke's? We think not! Despite the fact that he may have left it on the hot plate too long—potentially burning it—we don't care. It's not just the actual liquid gold we'd be drinking, but it's also the experience of doing a traditional thing in Stars Hollow.

The Weekly Gilmore Family Dinners Were So Easy to Relate To

For many of us, family dinners can get awkward. And when we tuned in on the weekly Gilmore dinners, we cringed at the fact that, although Emily and Richard are rich, their issues with Lorelai and Rory are freakishly similar to what any other family would go through. Family arguments are no stranger to any of us—regardless of how much money you make.

Rory's Cute Boyfriends

Were you Team Dean? Team Jess? Team Logan? Rory had a pretty active love life, and to an extent, we were a bit jealous of her for it. And with years since she left Stars Hollow, it'll be interesting to find out who she'll be dating next. Will she go from her past? Or will she bring a new guy into the wacky world that is Stars Hollow.

We All Need Some Sookie in Our Lives!

While she had her sidekick moments, Gilmore Girls wouldn't be what it is without her. From her eccentric yet bubbly personality and down-to-earth advice for Lorelai, Sookie is a star in her own right. Unfortunately, Melissa McCarthy, who portrayed the role, hasn't confirmed her appearance in the miniseries. In other words, Sookie might not be there. Despite her possible absence in the set of reunion episodes, we can still look back on clips like the one above and see why she'll always be one of our favorite characters on the show.

Girlmore Girls Showed Us That You Can Always Be Young at Heart

There were so many moments when we questioned who was the mother and the daughter in Lorelai and Rory's relationship. But that was the charm that we loved about Lorelai. From her haphazard way of approaching situations to playing with a cootie-catcher during class, the show seemed to tap into our younger selves.

Will Luke and Lorelai Finally Live Happily Ever After?

Are they or aren't they? Now that we know both Scott Patterson and Lauren Graham will be in the miniseries, the Loralei and Luke story line is bound to not only continue but also heat up—at least we hope so. While we know nothing always traditionally ends with "Happily Ever After" on Gilmore Girls, it'll be great to see their dynamic once again. We know you guys missed their bickering as much as we did.

Lorelai and Rory Proved That Your Mom Can Be Your Best Friend...Sometimes

While it seemed unimaginable for a mother and daughter to really be BFFs, Loralei and Rory shattered the idea during each episode of Gilmore Girls. They had their ups and downs and did argue once in a while; however, no matter what they've been through, Rory and Loralei went through it together. And whenever Rory needed someone to vent, cry or just talk to, her mom was always ready with open arms, some Kleenex and a cup of coffee.
