What better way for an artist to source inspiration than directly from one’s fans? Sam Brown, best known for his work on his website, explodingdog. The way he works is simple: people send him anything ranging from a simple phrase to an intricate thought via e-mail, the site or even through social media. From there, the digital artist uses some of his many quirky characters — like robots, fish and birds — to bring those random trains of thought to life in his own, unique perspective. While the store remains open, explodingdog is currently in hiatus. Brown’s work is also accessible from his new site, Building A World.
