Jackie Chan may not have been necessarily known for making films that would be up for an Academy Award. However, with 56 years in the film industry, it's safe to say he's earned his stripes.
The Hong Kong actor was given an honorary Oscar at the Governors awards on Saturday (November 12). Tom Hanks introduced Jackie and said that his many years of slapstick comedy and martial arts expertise has been "historically underrepresented at the Oscars."
"Standing here is a dream," the 62-year-old actor said. "After 56 years in the film industry, making more than 200 films, breaking so many bones, finally this is mine."
