It’s a passionate song of being true to yourself.

Forgiveness isn’t easy — both for the giver and the receiver. The LA-via-New York singer-songwriter Marga Lane channels the difficult feeling of having trouble accepting forgiveness on her new song “Forgiven,” which we’re premiering exclusively on Myspace today.

The visceral single blends Lane’s intricate, personal songwriting with her breathy, dynamic vocals. Sometimes so laden with emotion, “Forgiven” becomes almost haunting.

"Everyone deserves the chance to be forgiven, but we all at some point have felt like we may not be worthy of another person's forgiveness for whatever the reason may be. My song, "Forgiven", portrays that sentiment,” says Lane to Myspace.

“I wrote 'Forgiven' drawing from events in a previous relationship, incorporating all the thoughts and words I wish this person would have felt and expressed to me at that time. I changed the point of view so many times during the writing process, but really gravitated more towards flipping the narrative around and singing it in first person, as if I was the one who caused the hurt, similar to Rihanna's 'Unfaithful,'" continues the singer.

"I may not have been the person who had to be forgiven, but I had to forgive, especially forgive myself for the choices I made and just as with loving yourself, the more you forgive yourself, the easier it becomes to forgive others."

"Forgiven" will be released as part of Lane's upcoming EP called Undressed, which comes out on December 2.
