Shake and sing-along to the latest track off 'Momentum.'

Germany tech/deep house producer Matthias Tanzmann has been making several generations dance since his mid-90s debut. He also understands the importance of long-form releases, since this fall marks the arrival of his second full-length album Momentum (it drops October 7), that perfectly captures the moment of Tanzmann’s groovy domination on the scene. But let’s hear it from the man himself — in our interview and exclusive premiere of “Shake Shake.”

What's your story?

I have been DJing and producing for almost 20 years now. Momentum is my second album. The first one, Restless, came out in 2008. I have released a lot of EPs and remixes over the last years until I came to the point where I felt it is the right time for a new album.

What should we know about this new album?

I wanted to present a wider spectrum of music than what I release on EPs usually. The album format gave me the chance to do that. The 10 tracks on Momentum range from laid back home listening to the dance floor.

Let's talk about the track we're premiering - "Shake Shake". What's the story with this one and what's the best place to shake to it?

When I had the basic idea of this track ready, I realized this makes me wanna shake to it. So I went looking for a vocal. In the end I used a computer generated voice. That is why the pronunciation of the single letters is a bit odd sometimes. But I liked it that way. Shake to it wherever and whenever you can.

What's been your 2016 highlight?

I think my highlight is yet to come. I will go on an album release tour all over the world from October until December. I am really looking forward to that.
