With American Idol gearing up for its farewell season, Kanye West made a "surprise" appearance at the auditions back in October. With his boo, Kim Kardashian, there to support him, he stood in front of judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. and introduced himself as if he were just another kid trying to make it in the industry.

"My name is Kanye, I'm from the south side of Chicago," he said before going on with his audition. "I'm originally a producer. I always wanted to rap and no one really believed in me, so I wanted to try some things out, ya know?"

With smiles on their faces, the judges asked what he was going to perform. And Kanye went with "Gold Digger" since it gives a shoutout to JLo. After doing a flawless performance, he obviously walked away with a ticket to the next round.
