She apologizes to Gaga for claiming she didn't write "Til It Happens to You."
After calling Lady Gaga out for not having a hand in writing "Til It Happens to You," which was nominated for Best Original Song at this year's Academy Awards, Linda Perry is taking it all back and apologized on where else but Twitter.
The songwriter, who wrote "Hands of Love" for Freehold and was not nominated for an Oscar, blasted Gaga on Twitter yesterday (January 18). She accused Lady Gaga of not co-writing the song for the documentary Hunting Ground with Diane Warren and shouldn't be included in the Oscar nominations. But Diana immediately responded to the allegations, which made Linda realize she was wrong.
See Linda Perry's apology followed by Diane Warren's explanation below.
My sincere apologies. I made a mistake to comment. I wasn't in the room when the #TIHTY was being written.

Til It Happens To You was written for The Hunting Ground, an incredibly powerful documentary about sexual assault on college campuses

The song is the result of a special collaboration between myself and Lady Gaga. As Lady Gaga and I have consistly said. Til it Happens
