It will be based on her childhood in Queens, New York.
Nicki Minaj will executive produce and appear in an ABC Family sitcom. The show will be based on her '90s childhood growing up in Queens, NY, where her family settled after immigrating from Trinidad and Tobago.
"Nicki is an international superstar, yet not everyone knows how inspiring and hilarious her true story is, and we can't wait to share it with the world," says Karey Burke, the network's executive vice president of programming and development.
Karey has a point: The stories that Nicki has told the most of her upbringing are of her abusive father, who once set fire to their home when her mother was inside. Since then, however, Nicki has opened up about her unsuccessful stint waitressing at Red Lobster; she was fired from five different locations.
