Back in 1978, Marvel launched and quickly canceled a comic series called Devil Dinosaur that followed the parallel universes of Devil Dinosaur and his tiny companion Moon Boy. Now, 37 years later, the rare comic is getting reinvented.
Writer Amy Reeder recently told Entertainment Weekly that the timing is right for the world to meet Lunella Lafayette. "Moon Girl is definitely a type of personality that I had in my mind for a long time, that hopefully people can identify with in different aspects,” Reeder explaims. “We all feel isolated or left out at times. So it’s been a joy to try to create something like this.”
Reeder describes Lafayette (Moon Girl) as a preteen genius with "unpredictable alien DNA," who lives in the dinosaur-unfriendly city of New York. The writer shared some sketches on Twitter. Check them out below.
