The song's live debut has him shaking off the post-"Blurred Lines" hangover.

Robin Thicke has had a rough year. Last summer he split from his longtime partner Paula Patton. He released a miserable album pleading for Patton to come back, named Paula. Then this spring, Marvin Gaye's estate sued Thicke, Pharrell and T.I. for copyright infringement over "Blurred Lines"—to date, his biggest hit yet. He seemed unbothered, though, by his post-"Blurred Lines" hangover today on Good Morning America, for the live debut of his new single "Back Together." Like with "Blurred Lines," Thicke didn't write "Back Together"—that credit goes to Max Martin and protégé Savan Kotecha. Perhaps that's why, then, despite his heartbroken lyrics, the retro R&B star just seemed to lose himself in the song's feel-good vibes, appearing and sounding more confident than he has since, well, you know.
