The tour has lasted 21 years, and now the bands that play it will also have to be of drinking age.

The Vans Warped Tour made a few of the wrong headlines this year, from backlash for including an act rumored to be participating in inappropriate text relationships with underage girls to accusations of sexual harassment by a band member behind the scenes. After a lot of drama, tour founder and promoter Kevin Lyman is planning on making some changes.

"Next year we're going to have no kids on this tour. It’s going to be really tough if you want to be on this tour and are 21 and under. Whether it's the artist, crew… anyone," Lyman told The Stranger

Lyman agrees that there are things about the tour that must be fixed, but also thinks social media plays a big role in the way Warped Tour is changing.

“People can't retain the name of a band and the song they play. Brains have turned into a spaghetti sieve, as I like to say, shit just flows through them all of the time. Nothing’s sticking, except for a little bit of crust off of the sides," he said in his interview with The Stranger. "We're going to have to slow down technology. We have to slow it down, so it means something."
