A few of the voice actors from the game are contradicting each other.
Voice actor Nolan North let slip that The Last of Us 2 is in production during a panel at Florida's Metrocon earlier this month—but according to lead voice actor Troy Baker, that's not the case.
During a Q&A at Indy PopCon last weekend, Baker said he hadn't been informed of a sequel to 2013's award-winning game at all. "I know nothing. I don't know if we're gonna do another one or not," he said before expressing his confidence in creative director Neil Druckmann and game director Bruce Straley to make the right choice. "If we do, then I trust Neil and Bruce and everyone at Naughty Dog to tell a story that needs to be told." Check out the full Q&A below.
Baker's statement comes after North, who voiced David in the original game, mentioned the next installment in passing during his spotlight panel. "I know they're doing Last of Us 2, but my character in Last of Us kind of met an untimely demise," he said. See the clip below, or watch his full panel on YouTube.
To make things even more confusing, a former employee of Naughty Dog reportedly updated his public LinkedIn profile in December 2014 to show one month of "prototyping head sculpts" for The Last of Us 2.
For now, Naughty Dog has not confirmed a sequel, so check out the original game's DLC Left Behind—which can now be purchased on its own—if you're going through withdrawals.
