Medical school, culinary school, semester at sea, art school—it all happened.
If you watched 22 Jump Street, you know that some of the movie's best jokes were saved for the credits. Ice Cube tells Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum that they better pack up for their next assignment: medical school. After that stint, they moonlighted as foreign exchange students in Russia. After that? A semester at sea. And then art school. Then culinary school. And then veterinary school. And so on and so forth, until they finally landed at 2121 Jump Street—set in SPACE.
Topless Robot reports that during their panel at WonderCon, 21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller revealed that they've got big plans for those "fake" sequels: “We’ve found a way that we love that makes those imagined sequels canonical and yet does something that we haven’t told you about yet,” said Lord. “The sequels are canon.”
Meaning all those things joked about in the end credits will have actually happened in the Jump Street universe by the time we get (what we're assuming is going to be called) 23 Jump Street. Both Miller and Lord will be producing the third installment, although they are not yet confirmed to return as directors.
