The book-turned-movie is slowly dragging itself to a movie theater near you.
The film based on the 2009 parody novel of the same name, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, has an official release date: February 19, 2016.
In this spectacular reimagining of the Jane Austen classic, a strange illness has crippled Meryton... which, yes, leads to the zombie apocalypse. Elizabeth Bennet and her sisters are trained in the martial arts by their father in order to defend themselves from the hordes of undead. After Mrs. Bennet schemes to marry off her four daughters, in comes Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy (who's a monster hunter in this alternate universe)... which... complicates things.
Lily James (Downton Abbey, Cinderella) has signed onto star as Elizabeth Bennet, Sam Riley (Control) will play Mr. Darcy and Matt Smith (Terminator Genisys, Doctor Who) will portray Mr. Collins.

And as silly as Pride and Prejudice and Zombies may seem, the film's got some big names backing it: The movie will be directed by Burr Steers (Charlie St. Cloud), David O. Russell co-wrote the script, and Natalie Portman will co-produce.
