Live Nation just announced plans for Madonna to appear and perform on The Ellen Degeneres Show for a week-long residency starting March 16.

The pop vet is following in the footsteps of other major acts who have commanded week-long spots on talk shows, including Metallica on Ferguson, Foo Fighters on Letterman, the White Stripes on Conan and more. Madonna is one of the first to have a daytime talkshow week-long residency in her hands, however (Train, for example, held one on The Rachael Ray Show in 2012). 

Madonna is currently in the midst of a heavy promotional tour for new album—her 13th!—Rebel Heart, out March 6 via UMG.
