Another bragging point for Kendrick Lamar.
Kendrick Lamar unleashed his album To Pimp a Butterfly an entire week ahead of his announced March 23 release—and the people responded. According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, the album shattered Spotify's record for the most streams in a single day worldwide by a brand new release. To Pimp a Butterfly attracted 9.6 million full start-fo-finish streams in 24 hours yesterday. The previous record was held by Drake's (also surprise album) If You're Reading This It's Too Late, which held 6.8 million streams in a single day.
Will Kanye or Rihanna break the record next?
