And the real winner of the 2015 Miss Universe Pageant is ... Steve Harvey. Just days prior to Sunday's pageant, where he made history by incorrectly announcing the winner, the comedian had signed a multi-year deal to host the show for at least three years if not six or seven. a source tells Entertainment Weekly that his pay is "more than they've ever paid before for a host."

Steve had named Miss Colombia as Miss Universe, only to correct himself and crown Miss Philippines the winner; he says that he misread his cue cards. Neither contestant knew how to react right there and then, though Miss Columbia soon said that she was at peace with the outcome.

"I was able to bring happiness to my country after becoming Miss Universe for only a couple of minutes," she said on Instagram (below). "Today because of that COLOMBIA and the LATIN COMMUNITY are being talked about in every corner of the world. I also want to congratulate the Philippines for their new Miss Universe."

 

After the storm comes the calm. I want to thank each and everyone of you who have sent messages of support and strength. Every one of you has become an incredible human being in my book and I am the most fortunate and thankful for having the support not only from one country but from the whole entire world. Your destiny is written for you. And my destiny was this. I was able to bring happiness to my country after becoming Miss Universe for only a couple of minutes...
