Part of a mid-70s scene in Long Island, New Jersey, USA, that also included Network and Ram Jam, Arc formed in 1975, producing one album for CBS Records offshoot Lifesong three years later.
Steve Szczesniak (drums), Bob Savene (vocals, bass), Wayne George (keyboards) and Ed Kosowski (guitar) recorded a mixture of their own songs and five tracks written for them by John Palumbo (ex-Crack The Sky). Mixing slightly pompous rock with influences as diverse as disco and jazz-funk, added to 10cc -style pop sensibilities, ARC made an underrated and adventurous album in a field and era where sterile repetition of old ideas was sometimes the norm.
