Italian pop singer Antonella Bucci made her debut while playing the role of Mary Magdalene in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar at her school.
It was in 1989 when the artist decided to become a professional, after winning Castrocaro's New Voices contest with her song "C'e Un Motivo In Piu." That same year, local label DDD signed her up. Soon, the singer was teaming up with Eros Ramazzotti, recording "Amarti E L'immenso Per Me," which was included on In Ogni Senso. In 1992 Antonella Bucci recorded her first solo single, "La Regazze Crescono," followed by her debut album, called Il Mare Delle Nuvolo, and by a self-titled record released in 1996. ~ Drago Bonacich
