Antimatter's work first appeared on Asphodel's A Storm of Drones compilation in 1995. Debut Antimatter release Transfixion, an album of disturbing dark ambient drone, appeared on Artifact Recordings in 1999. Under his own name, Davidson released Function Generator, his first collaboration with Polish noise/experimental artist Zbigniew Karkowski, in 2001. Antimatter completed remixes for Asphodel releases by Tipsy and Iannis Xenakis, and the label released his second album, Antimatter vs Antimatter, in 2003. The release was much warmer and more melodic than the project's debut, and received acclaim from several experimental music publications, including The Wire. Third Antimatter album Our Lady of the Skies, a more post-rock-leaning effort featuring contributions by members of HiM and Tarnation, appeared on Asphodel in 2005. Two more collaborations with Karkowski (both credited to Antimatter) followed: 2005's KHZ (on Auscultare Research) and 2007's Divide by Zero (on Antifrost). Antimatter's fourth proper album, Reset, appeared on Resipiscent in 2011. Processor, Davidson's fourth collaboration with Karkowski (and second credited to his own name), appeared in 2013 as part of Sub Rosa's New Series Framework. ~ Paul Simpson
