The name Alodex defines their band, their music, and their friendship.
It is a name that defies status quo marketability but Alodex; the band has always been a band that has gone against the grain to set itself apart from the rest, methodically by choice and unintentionally by talent.
Alodex began over 6 years ago evolving and refining their sound to what they view themselves as an alternative metal band. Their sound is a culmination of melodic riffs, searing guitars, and soaring vocals backed by a tight and thunderous rhythm section. A hybrid melting of Queensryche and Iron Maiden mixed with Killswitch Engage and Bullet For My Valentine. They are metal for a new generation fusing their appreciation for metal that came before and the metal of today creating their own melodic and thunderous vision to the music. Their lyrics speak of real life and personal conflicts, touching a variety of themes from drug addiction to a soldier questioning his life after returning from war. Inking a deal with TMG records in 2010 Alodex were finally able to record and release their long awaited debut CD, “Embrace the Heartache”. Songs from the album enjoy continuous airplay on local rock station KLAQ and can be found on Itunes or ordered directly from the band’s website www.alodex.net. Their first video, “A World Of Laughter” can be seen on youtube. Alodex delivers a great show for every performance they do whether it is for one person or to a standing room only crowd. They believe they must not simply play the music but they must perform so they can feed energy to the crowd and they can feed off of the energy from the crowd. Being musicians they have no problem unplugging themselves from the distortion and entertaining the crowd acoustically.
Since the band’s inception Alodex has enjoyed various successes opening for high profile bands and huge crowds. They have shared the stage with Shinedown, Alterbridge, Powerman 5000, Finger Eleven, Theory of a Deadman, Aranda, Joan Jett and the Heartbreakers, Foghat and Warrant. With hundreds of gigs already under their belts, they have taken to the stage for local major events such as radio station KLAQ’s Balloonfest, Locofest, Streetfest, Speaking Rock Concerts, and to over 10,000 US Army Soldiers at Ft. Bliss.
To truly appreciate Alodex you must see them perform live and then you will understand they are a band for which cannot be defined but simply appreciated.
