Alfa Garcia, known simply as “Alfa”, is a singer/songwriter who can be found playing guitar, a ukulele, a violin, or tinkering with the ivories.
She has released 5 albums or EP’s of original music of the folk-pop genre, which have been heard on E!’s “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and MTV’s “Friendzone”. Her latest album, “World Go Blue” reached the CMJ Top 200 National Airplay Radio charts (#123), as well as the Top 100 College Radio Charts (#65). Music Connection Magazine placed Alfa in their “Top 25 Music Critiques of 2012,” comparing her style to songwriters Ingrid Michaelson and Sara Bareilles. Alfa’s live performances include her unique vocals, which have been described as, “a clear blue sky and a candid soul” by Indie Music Reviewer, and a revolving door of instruments.

Alfa tours colleges and venues in the U.S., and has recently completed her college and radio tour in Spring 2013, which promoted the release of “World Go Blue.” She endorses Walden Guitars, Mya-Moe Ukuleles, PreSonus and Hamilton Stands by DANSR.

Alfa has received honorable mention from the New York Songwriters Circle, and in 2009, was the winner of Kollaboration Acoustic, a competition for Asian-American musicians in Los Angeles. Before pursuing music, she was a reporter for a regional NJ newspaper and a magna cum laude graduate of NYU.

In her early years, Alfa was a trained violinist in the Children’s Orchestra Society in Long Island, NY, performing in such venues as Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall and the Denver Center for the Performing Arts.
