Alain Karon from Montreal, was the leader of the rock groups MODULAR but more known’s LES TACHES ( 1982-2008).
He plays many instruments, is also an arranger and producer in his own and other studios. He is the co-initiator of the Tam tams Jams on the Mont-Royal and was also the instigator and president of l’Usine de creation AKME, a cultural hotbed committed to multidisciplinary creation which he has led for four years (1984-1988) and which has had international visibility. He was also the founder and president of the Festival international rock of Montréal (FIRM). Conceptor, coordinator and consultant, he also has his musical publishing house, Houji/Sigretto. Between 1997 and 2008, he founded and presided Le Lab\0ratoire a hotbed for multidisciplinary, social and cultural development and was also, from 1998-2003, co-founder & on the Board of directors of GRIP Montréal, an organization dedicated to the prevention, awareness and information on substance abuse and other psychological and social issues. He is still a member today.
Alain had worked with a lot of artists of different musical genre. To name a few, he produced “LesTaches” (www.lestaches.ca). Paul Sarrasin (Musique Plus ex-VeeJay), Polo (before ”Freres à Cheval”), Sylvie Laliberte (multi-média performer), The Minstrels (60’s garage), Idées Noires (grunge), Les Parfaits Salauds (pop/rock), Arthur Cossettes & Les Jaguars (surf), Méchant Boris (hardrock), Amnésie (punk), few techno artists, Les Évadés (HipHop), Meteore among others and he also produced tv, radio themes & publicities.
Since 2010,Alain host a radio show called l’AKademie about discovering his huge record collection at www.radiocentreville.com, came back to deejaying as Boogy Karon in partys & clubs as la Taverna in Montreal, and, since 2013, is playing drums with a successful band called “Les Lions Noirs” (afro-groove) and started a new personal project under the name of “Alain Karon’s BoogyRe:Bella” (rockstep).
