Twenty Two Hundred is a hard hitting, heavy rock band from Australia, with strong roots in blues and groove.
The band has forged a sound that is instantly recognisable for it's tasty riffs, sleazy grooves, wall of heavy tones, soaring vocals and classic guitar solos.
With Mark Wells on bass/guitar, Marcus Kain on guitar/bass, Drew Alig on drums, the guys recruited vocalist Ben Lawoko-Leaney and began performing in Melbourne's local scene, making a solid splash among the rock audience. They recorded their debut EP "Eleven" in early 2010 showcasing their unique sound. A sound that caught the ear of guitar superstar Slash, who, upon hearing their EP, personally invited Twenty Two Hundred to open for him in Singapore in late 2010. Seeing the extremely positive reaction of the 7000 strong audience, Slash invited the band to open for his entire Asian tour in early 2011.
At the Slash show in Singapore, the guys met Tony Cardenas-Montana, who was filling in for Todd Kerns in Slash's band. It was not long after Ben's departure from the band, until Tony was singing on new demos for Mark, which led to Mark asking Tony to sing on the debut album.
In 2012 Twenty Two Hundred recorded their first full length album "Carnaval De Vénus" in Melbourne, Australia and Los Angeles, USA, produced by Mark Wells.
Multiple Grammy Award winning mix engineer Andrew Scheps put his hand up to mix the record in Los Angeles, after he heard some early demos. Upon seeing the band live at the iconic Whisky A Go-Go in Los Angeles, his enthusiasm showed, as he found time while mixing the Red Hot Chili Peppers, to mix Twenty Two Hundred. Andrew was so impressed with the album, he released it on his own label, Tonequake Records, in early 2013.

Throughout 2013, Twenty Two Hundred focussed on making their own music videos, with the band acting as film crew and post production crew. Now, in November and December 2014, the guys are hitting the road again, opening for Slash ft Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators "World On Fire" UK tour, with California Breed, playing a string of arena dates in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, London (Wembley Arena) and Glasgow.
