Consisting of members Marvin Humes (JLS), the White N3rd (Scott Wild), and JKAY (Jon Kay), the electronic dance trio LuvBug formed in April 2013.
Humes and Kay grew up together in Woolwich, South East London, while Wild was raised in Manchester. Kay was part of the songwriting and production duo Tracklacers, who actually produced material for JLS while Humes was still in the band. Meanwhile, Wild was a producer who shared studio time with the likes of Max Martin and Ali Tennant. The trio decided to produce together after Wild was introduced to Humes through Tennant and was convinced that working with the other two would be beneficial. Inspired by classic U.K. garage and funky, deep house, they started working on and releasing remixes for the likes of Inner City, Leah McFall & will.i.am, and Case & Foxy Brown. They began work on their own productions when they signed a deal with Polydor in early 2014. They teamed up with vocalist Talay Riley for their debut single "Resonance" in October 2014, which reached number 13 in the U.K. singles chart and established them as one of the emerging U.K. deep house production outfits. Second single "Revive (Say Something)" was released the following February and became another Top 20 U.K. hit as they put the finishing touches on their debut album. ~ Aneet Nijjar
